Immediate opening for K-8 Teachers and Third Grade Reading Specialist! 

We are seeking excellent educators who not only believe that every child can succeed, but are also willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that our students are adequately prepared academically and socially to be competitive additions to excellent high schools and colleges throughout Ohio and the entire USA. 

Qualified candidates are:
*Able to  Balance the Classroom Setting:   The Teacher possesses the knowledge to control the classroom with out yelling. Makes the most of the instructional hour through the use of organizational and classroom discipline.  Sets expectations for behavior and academic goals.  Provides serious feedback to parents and students on school work and tests and provides special help to individual students when needed.

*Data Driven – educators interact with and use student data on a daily basis to inform and adjust their instructional decisions so that student growth can be achieved. 

*Excellent Team Players and Collaborators – educators survive and thrive through strong professional relationships with one another.  Work with School and Staff to implement and reach the Ohio Improvement Goal set for the by the School Leadership Team.

*Organized and Excellent Communicators – educators are able to balance the heavy demands of teaching, professional development, after school responsibilities, committee membership, and personal life.   


Core Responsibilities
Student Achievement and Success:
•   Ensure high academic standards are set for and met by all students
•   Develop and execute a rigorous standards-based curriculum
•   Differentiate curriculum, instruction, and individualized learning plans to meet individual student needs
•    Use student performance data derived from teacher-created and standardized assessments to drive instructional decision-making
Commitment to G.I.A. and Classroom Culture:
•   Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
•   Develop positive relationships with students
•   Develop classroom rules for behavior that are consistent with the school wide rules and G.I.A. Student Code of Conduct
•   Develop positive relationships with parents for the purpose of creating a support for students and their education program; execute assigned home visits to facilitate this process
•   Assist in promoting the participation of students, parents, and other members of the staff in G.I.A. -initiated activities
Professionalism and Leadership:
•   Collaborate with Principal and/or improvement coach to develop and execute Professional Growth Plan
•   Exhibit personal responsibility for daily work and attendance, personal appearance, student learning, and school success
•   Demonstrate collegial behavior and make professional development contributions to the school community

Qualifications
Education
•         Bachelor’s degree (required)
•         Masters degree in education (preferred)
Experience
•         At least two years of teaching experience (preferred)
•         Experience working with children who have been educationally underserved
•         Candidate must be able to demonstrate the academic progress of students under his/her leadership and articulate the methods used to achieve those results
Certification
Licensure requirements: 4-year Resident Educator, 5-year Professional, P-3
