Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our school will be closed for students on Friday, March 10, 2020, and Monday, April 13th, 2020. Remote learning via home instruction for students begins on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Free meals will still be provided for the remainder of the year and through the summer months.
I would like to thank our Principals, Teachers, Parents and Guardians for taking the time this week to connect with one another to implement the remote learning plan for our elementary and middle school students. What we have accomplished to get our students up and running at home is nothing short of amazing!
Our teachers will continue to reach out to you and students for support with technology and assignments . This will be done through phone calls and online interaction tools. If you do not have a reliable device or internet access at home or just prefer printed materials, we will print the learning materials for you. All materials will continue to be provided at the Boy’s Campus at 4265 Northfield Rd, Highland Hills, Ohio 44128. Office Hours are Monday -Friday from 9am-2:30pm. (As things change rapidly these days, please call, check your email and the website for any changes before you make a trip to the school).
As you are aware, the students will be expected to work on an assignment posted by the teacher. The teacher will be available to answer student questions during the times listed on their schedules. Teachers including Special Education Teachers and Title Teachers have several types of delivery of instruction and class assignments! We also have Art and Physical Education assignments to keep the children creating and moving!
Team members will be conducting all previously scheduled IEP meetings via phone. They will also be available for additional phone conferencing as needed. Please request these additional conferences via email. Therapists (i.e. OT, PT) will be sharing information via email and/or Google Classroom. They will also be available for additional phone conferencing as needed. You can see the specific directions from your child’s therapist in the links provided on the website.
If your student was on the path to graduate or move to the next grade before school closed, then they will graduate or be promoted. Further, we will contact you about clearing lockers once the State has lifted our Stay at Home Order. Right now, we can assume that graduation ceremonies will be delayed until the late summer or early fall. We will provide more information about this in the upcoming weeks.
If a parent or guardian has a question for a staff member, please email the individual and the staff member will respond to your question within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. If you have any other concerns, please contact the School at (216) 378-9573.
Thank you for being such a wonderful partner in your child’s education. We want you to relax because we will take our time and work through the “kinks” as a team! Your child’s teacher will guide you through the transition to remote learning so that your child will quickly adapt and thrive in this new learning environment.
Stay healthy and encourage your students to continue learning during this time.
Sincerely,
April Hart, JD
Executive Director
